If you are looking to escape to a haven of tranquillity and calm to relax, revive and inspire you, then take a closer look at Villa Pallero in magical Tuscany

A beautifully restored ancient Villa built into the hills below the famous medieval walled city of San Gimignano, Pallero oozes serenity and lifts your spirits from the moment you arrive.

Villa Pallero is a family owned residence that offers exclusivity and privacy.  You will be encouraged to use the Villa as your own “second home” in Tuscany and enjoy the informality that this opportunity provides.

There are just five self catering apartments and cottages that make up the Villa.  Each accommodates between 2 and 5 people and three can link up for larger gatherings.  Exclusive use is also available to provide for a total of 17.

There are private loggias and terraces for each property to gaze mesmerised at the sunrises and sunsets that are so unique in Tuscany.  Beautiful gardens for lazy days sipping the local wine and taking a dip to cool off every now and then in the opulent Roman Bath House style pool.

After half an hour at Pallero it appears as though the world has finally stopped spinning and you can get off and listen to the deep silence that is only punctuated by the sounds of far off bells ringing or closer to home, the gentle jingling of those round the necks of the sheep grazing below the Villa.

Bird song, the gentle trickle of a fountain, the heady scent of the roses and jasmine that cling to the ancient Villa walls; these are the sensations you will start to absorb and this in turn will soothe and relax you.

Tuscany has the unique ability to awaken all the senses and has a wonderfully restorative and rejuvenating effect on tired bodies and minds.  The Villa itself is built on Etruscan foundations and the water coursing deep below the ground was believed by this ancient race to have energising qualities.

There is an effortless beauty to be appreciated in this region that is utterly timeless.; another reason why you will be “pulled back” for more again and again.

From the comfort of your sun bed on the lawn you can observe the toil of man and his animals lovingly tending the land to yield the fruits of Tuscany; whether it is the vines being handpicked by the family in the Autumn or the Olive harvest later in the year or the sheep being milked for their distinctively rich Pecorino cheese.  Even the odd shot ringing out higher up the valley when the Wild Boar are being hunted, the land in Italy is embraced by everyone.

If you can tear yourself away from the Villa, there is a journey of simple discovery to be savoured.  Maybe a local produce market below the towers in the local town squares of San Gimignano or Volterra or a medieval pageant that has the whole place buzzing with excitement.  In the evenings there are often outdoor concerts to lend to the atmosphere.  Sample the mystery of disappearing down an unknown alleyway seemingly entering a far distant world and arriving in the doorway of an artisan craftsman carving their blocks of the locally mined Alabaster into wonderfully tactile object d’art.

Up the tempo a bit and head for Florence or Siena; both just a 45 minute drive but very different.  The soft, warm welcome afforded by the Siennese stone and the wonder of arriving in the huge campo where each year the famous “Palio” horse race is held.  Florence is an emotional journey of humbling proportions to admire all the sights in just one day.  Pace yourself and decide on your priorities before you go or you will be like a small child in a sweet shop !

Villa Pallero is a perfect choice for all seasons and reasons; romantic, restful, inspirational and indulgent.  Stay a week and you will want to stay for ever !
