Directions to Villa Pallero from Pisa (via the 439)

On leaving PISA airport turn right onto the freeway ‘Superstrada’ (blue signs) –
NOT the Motorway ‘Autostrada’ (green signs!) Direction Firenze and Livorno.
The Airport lies directly on this Superstrada (4 lanes).

At the intersection LIVORNO/FIRENZE continue towards Firenze.

After going through a short tunnel you will arrive at the EXIT Pontedera/ Ponsacco.
NB this is the second exit to Pontedera. The sign also mentions Volterra.

Follow the signs towards Volterra. (Essentially you follow signs to Volterra for most of the journey.)

You will go past Capannoli, where you will see signs to Peccioli, then Terriciola. Drive through la Sterza.
5,5 kms after this you must turn LEFT in direction Volterra, passing through the ERA valley.

After a further 7 kms you will see the Hotel/bar/restaurant ‚’’Molino d´ERA’’ on the left hand side –
big yellow and PINK building (Great food !) Straight after this turn left straightaway over the ‘coat hanger’ bridge.
At this point you stop following signs to Volterra - you don’t want to drive through Volterra – only around it.

Directly after crossing the bridge, take the right fork towards Colle Val D’Elsa. DO NOT take the road to
San Gimignano which is indicated! (This road takes much longer weaving through the hills.)
You are still on the 439. Stay on this road for about 5 km. Don’t be tempted to turn off for either
Cozzano or Volterra. Continue towards Roncolla.

Roncolla lies east from Volterra, where you arrive at junction 68. Turn left here for Colle Val d´Elsa.
After about 14 km you will reach Castel San Gimignano, pass through and take the first Left to SAN GIMIGNANO.

After 5 kms you will see a large brick complex. Turn RIGHT here onto our private road.
There is a small car park on the right where you will see a small pink sign saying ‘Poggio a Pallero’ and CIUCIANO
-drive up the hill at the junction stay on the right (NOT left up the hill!). You will see another pink sign for
‘Poggio a Pallero’. Continue past the house on the left ‘Casa nova dei TINACCI ‘ and you will see Pallero down
the hill on the right hand side. Ring the bell at the entrance gate of VILLA PALLERO !

The route is a bit winding and especially at night you need to concentrate. It takes between 1 hr 15 and 1 hr 30.

Check in time is between 5pm and 7pm – if you are delayed please give us a call :
